What kind of shoes can we wear on board?
Barefoot is best, but if you want or need to wear shoes: White soft soled shoes only if they are planning on keeping them on; no heels of any kind.
Why is the maximum number of passengers for charters 12 people?
US Coast Guard Charter Bareboat Charter rules: Operate as a chartered vessel with no crew provided, limited to 12 passengers + written (bareboat) charter contract (e.g. houseboats); meeting recreational vessel requirements.
Does a baby count as a passenger for the 12-passenger rule? They won’t take up any room!
Yes. The law counts ‘souls on board’ regardless of age.
Is there an age requirement for charters?
There is no age requirement however, minors must be accompanied by an adult.
What time do charters usually start?
This depends on what you prefer and what time is available for specific dates. For 8-hour
charters, we will usually start around 10 or 11am. 4-hour charters allow for more flexibility and can be chosen by the client. We just ask that the boat is back at the marina before sunset.
What does a 3- or 6-hour charter usually look like?
We will be sailing the Clear Lake/Galveston Bay area. The charter will be catered to you and your wants! If you would like to anchor and take a swim during a charter, we can accommodate that request.
What can be brought on board and what is provided during a charter?
We provide bottled water, ice, coke, diet coke, diet sprite, plates, cups and paper goods. You are welcome to bring food, beverages and adult beverages onboard with you. We do ask that no illegal substances are brought aboard.
What is included in the $950 and $1450 charter price?
These rates do not include taxes, which are an additional (8.25%), credit card fee (4%) or captain gratuity.
Can we add additional time to our charters?
Yes! Flexible hours are available. Feel free to add additional time at $200/hour.
Can I view the boat before booking a charter?
You are more than welcome to come view the boats before booking a charter! Just contact us at (409) 682-7745 or info@yachtcations.com and we can set up a time for you to come by the Kemah Boardwalk Marina where the boats are located. How many people can I bring?
You can bring up to a total of 12 passengers, including yourself, for your charter.
Are children or pets allowed?
All children under 13 are required to wear a life vest at all times when outside the Salon.
Pets are welcome aboard, but an additional $150 cleaning fee will be.
First mate required for 3 or more children younger than 13 years old – $200

What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, credit card (additional 4% fee), Venmo or Zelle.
Can we go fishing while on a charter?
Yes. But a Texas fishing license is required for all persons over the age of 17.

What if there is bad weather?
We reschedule if winds are more than 15 knots, heavy rain or lightning.
Do you refund if you have to reschedule because of bad weather?
Yes, when you purchase a refundable charter. If not, there are no refunds.
How do I make my reservation?
An electronic invoice for the entire price of the charter will be emailed to you. Upon payment of at least 50% of the charter price, your reservation is confirmed.
When is the balance due for my reservation?
The balance is due two weeks prior to departure.
Is my reservation deposit refundable?
Yes, when you purchase Trip Protection. If not, there are no refunds
How does Trip Protection work?
Trip Protection allows you to request a refund at any time before departure for any reason, including if weather has caused your charter to not be able to depart. You will be reimbursed the full amount of your charter, less the cost of Trip Protection and payment processor fees.
